Test a custom input to verify an edge case (e.g. empty lists, negative numbers, duplicates).
This bug belongs to the logic errors pattern
The wrong operator, an inverted condition, a formula the right way round but backwards.
What went wrong: Array.prototype.sort() expects a comparator returning negative, zero, or positive numbers. Returning a boolean (a > b) only yields 1 or 0 and never returns -1, breaking reordering.
The fix: Return the difference (a - b) to provide positive, negative, and zero results: (a, b) => a - b
Remember: In JavaScript, sort comparators must return numbers, not booleans.
The pattern behind it: logic errors.
