Test a custom input to verify an edge case (e.g. empty lists, negative numbers, duplicates).
This bug belongs to the logic errors pattern
The wrong operator, an inverted condition, a formula the right way round but backwards.
What went wrong: Array.prototype.shift() mutates the original array in place and returns only the removed element.
The fix: Use Array.prototype.slice(1) to return the remaining elements without mutation: logs.slice(1)
Remember: In JavaScript, shift() returns the removed element, while slice(1) returns the rest of the array.
The pattern behind it: logic errors.
