Test a custom input to verify an edge case (e.g. empty lists, negative numbers, duplicates).
This bug belongs to the logic errors pattern
The wrong operator, an inverted condition, a formula the right way round but backwards.
What went wrong: os.path.join() treats any component starting with a slash as an absolute root path, discarding all preceding segments.
The fix: Strip leading slashes from sub_path before joining: os.path.join(base_path, sub_path.lstrip('/'))
Remember: In Python, os.path.join() resets the path if a component starts with a slash.
The pattern behind it: logic errors.
