Test a custom input to verify an edge case (e.g. empty lists, negative numbers, duplicates).
This bug belongs to the logic errors pattern
The wrong operator, an inverted condition, a formula the right way round but backwards.
What went wrong: subtracting the years is only right after the birthday. Before it, the person is one year younger.
The fix: age = today.year - birth.year, then subtract 1 if (today.month, today.day) < (birth.month, birth.day).
Remember: test dates just before and just after a birthday.
The pattern behind it: logic errors.
