Test a custom input to verify an edge case (e.g. empty lists, negative numbers, duplicates).
This bug belongs to the logic errors pattern
The wrong operator, an inverted condition, a formula the right way round but backwards.
What went wrong: str.strip() treats its argument as a set of characters to strip from ends. In 'catalog.log', the letters 'l', 'o', and 'g' match the set and get stripped.
The fix: Use str.removesuffix() to remove the exact suffix string: filename.removesuffix('.log')
Remember: In Python, str.strip() strips character sets; use str.removesuffix() for exact string endings.
The pattern behind it: logic errors.
