Test a custom input to verify an edge case (e.g. empty lists, negative numbers, duplicates).
This bug belongs to the logic errors pattern
The wrong operator, an inverted condition, a formula the right way round but backwards.
What went wrong: String.prototype.split(",") on an empty string returns [""], an array containing one empty string, giving a length of 1.
The fix: Guard against empty or whitespace strings before splitting: return tagString.trim() ? tagString.split(",").length : 0
Remember: In JavaScript, "".split(",") returns [""], not [].
The pattern behind it: logic errors.
