Assignment does not copy, a shallow copy still shares its contents, and mutating methods return None.
What went wrong: split(",") cuts at the commas but keeps the spaces, so " debugging" has a space at the front.
The fix: return [tag.strip() for tag in text.split(",")]
Remember: strip() each piece after splitting text people typed.
